Real Return
An investment return after subtracting inflation.
Real return is what you earn after accounting for inflation — your nominal return minus the inflation rate (roughly). It reflects the actual growth in purchasing power.
A 7% return with 3% inflation is only about a 4% real return, which is what really matters for long-term goals.
