About Numveo

Numveo is an independent project with a simple goal: help you see your numbers clearly. We build free, decimal-precise financial calculators — 150 of them so far — covering mortgages, loans, investing, retirement, taxes and everyday budgeting in the United States.

What Numveo is

Most people meet big financial decisions — a mortgage, a car loan, a retirement contribution, a tax estimate — with a spreadsheet, a half-remembered formula, or a calculator that hides how it got its answer. Numveo exists to make those numbers fast, transparent and trustworthy. Each calculator shows its result instantly, explains the formula behind it, and links to the official figures it relies on, so you can check the work rather than take it on faith.

We focus on US personal finance, and we keep the scope deliberately practical: the calculators answer the questions people actually ask — “what will my monthly payment be?”, “how much will this grow?”, “what’s my take-home pay?” — and pair each one with a plain-language explanation.

How we build our calculators

Every calculator on Numveo is powered by a single shared calculation engine, written from scratch and covered by an automated test suite. That means two things for you. First, the math is exact: the engine uses decimal arithmetic instead of ordinary floating-point numbers, so results don’t accumulate the tiny rounding errors that plague spreadsheets and quick scripts. Second, the formulas are versioned and pinned — when a tax year or a contribution limit changes, we add the new figures alongside the old ones rather than silently overwriting them, and each result reflects the year shown on the page.

For anything that depends on law or policy — tax brackets, standard deductions, Social Security parameters, contribution limits — we work from primary sources and cite them on the calculator itself, with the date they were last checked. Numveo’s results are estimates for general information, not personalized financial, tax or legal advice; for decisions that matter, we always encourage you to confirm the details with a qualified professional.

What we stand for

Accurate by construction

Every calculator runs on a shared engine that uses exact decimal math, so results don't drift with floating-point rounding — down to the last cent.

Sourced & dated

Tax brackets, contribution limits and benefit figures are checked against official sources — the IRS, SSA, CFPB, Federal Reserve and Tax Foundation — with the tax year shown on every page.

Private by default

Calculations run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server or stored, and most calculators keep working with no connection at all.

Free, no sign-up

Every tool is free and open to use — no account, no paywall, no limits. Numveo is supported by unobtrusive advertising, not by selling your data.

Who’s behind Numveo

Numveo is an independent, self-funded project — not a bank, a broker, or a lead-generation business. That independence is the point: we have no product to sell you and no incentive to nudge a result one way or another. The site is kept running by unobtrusive display advertising, which lets every calculator stay completely free.

We’re a small team of builders who care about getting the details right. If you spot a figure that looks off or a formula that deserves a clearer explanation, we genuinely want to hear about it — corrections from readers are one of the main ways the site improves.
